The Eden alternative
Fairview Manor is a registered Eden Alternative Facility. We were honored with this distinction in May of 2001 when we were recognized for our accomplishments in implementing the Eden Philosophy to our home.
The Eden Alternative Philosophy believes that people who live in Nursing Homes suffer from Loneliness, Helplessness, and Boredom, and work at changing their facility to eliminate these plagues.
Eden Alternative facilities work to provide their Residents with companionship, opportunities to provide care, and an environment that is full of variety and spontaneity. These ingredients as well as a focus that puts the Elders first and de-emphasizes top down bureaucratic authority, helps to create an environment where Residents thrive and have a greater quality in life.
